The
Amstel Park has all sorts of things, including miniature golf,
this little train for the kiddies and free range chickens running all
over the place.
Chickens,
chickens everywhere!
Including
in the trees. Chickens climb trees? Who knew?
This
feller followed the chicken up the tree.
The
park also has a windmill -- one of a handful in Amsterdam that are still
operable.
This one is a private home now, but they still operate it on
"windmill day" once a year.
This
feller followed that lovely young lady into the park.
Chickens
are everywhere, but other fowl make an appearance, too.
Among the other fowl are geese and these strangely upright black
ducks.
Here's
a closeup of the strange ducks.
The
park also contains a little "gallery" with some lovely things
for sale.
The garden in front of the gallery is pretty, so I thought it would
complement Thea well.
I was right.
The
chickens and geese don't stay on the lawns -- they come right up to the
entrance. Sometimes you even see roosters and chickens on
the median of the busy (four lane) street that runs along the park.
